ENTRY RULES
Registration opens on Wed July 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM (GMT+7) on the official website: https://chiangmai.utmb.world . There will be no pre-registration or lottery. For the first 48 hours, priority registration will be given exclusively to valid UTMB Index Holders.
After this 48-hour priority period, registration will open to all runners. Registration will remain open until October 31, 2026, at 10:00 AM (GMT+7), or until all race slots are filled, whichever comes first.
Only applicants who purchase the "Cancellation Guarantee" service will be eligible to request a cancellation. However, the reason for cancellation must align with the specified terms.
Applicants can request to change their race distance (increase/decrease) or transfer their registration to another participant until October 31, 2026. A fee will apply for these changes. It is not possible to defer your entry to next year.
Sales period : Registration will be open to the runners with a valid UTMB index only from Wed July 1, 2026 at 10:00 (GMT +7), until Fri July 3, 2026 at 9:59 (GMT +7).
At the end of this period, registrations will be open to runners with or without valid UTMB index until 31 October 2026 at 10:00 (GMT +7) or until the races are sold out.
There will be no waiting list.
Minimum age : Anyone born in 2005 or before may register to race category 100M, 100K, 50K.
Anyone born in 2007 or before may register to race category 20K.

Experience : To register to the Chiang Mai Thailand by UTMB®, for safety reasons, runners need to prove their experience. They will be reccommened to have
- 50K: valid UTMB index in the categories 20K or 50K or 100K or 100M
- 100K: valid UTMB index in the categories 50K or 100K or 100M
- 100M: valid UTMB index in the categories 100K or 100M
UTMB® Index is not required for 20K and 10K races

Elite Runners:
To honor highly accomplished athletes and ensure a fair registration process, we reserve quotas for Elite runners based on their Performance Index in their selected race category. Elite runners must register during the registration period. No registrations will be accepted after the registration deadline.
If a race distance is subject to a lottery system, Elite runners must register together with all other athletes.
Once a race distance has reached its maximum capacity, the organizer reserves the right to decline the registration of Elite runners.
All Elite runners must register for the race at least 60 days before the race date.

Eligible runners may benefit from the registration conditions above by contacting the organizer through the Elite Apply form to request a discount code, which can then be entered during the standard registration process.
You cannot transfer your registration if it's a COMBO application.
a) To another runner :
Registration is personal. However, it is possible to transfer a registration to someone else until 31 October 2026 provided that the runner who will benefit from the registration transfer also meets the entry conditions listed above. The original registration will not be refunded and a 500 Baht transfer fee be charged to the new runner who will have to register at the website www.runningconnect.com
b) To another race of the same event :
To another race of the same event : It is possible to transfer a registration to a shorter distance until 31 October 2026 and in the limit of places available. In this case, no refund will be made.
It is also possible to ask to transfer a registration to a longer distance but the request will not be automatically accepted and will be at the discretion of the race director.
Transfers are only available if the new distance is not sold out.
Cancellations, distance changes, and runner transfers must be requested in the following order :

• View detail of your desired order
• Go to “Refund/Transfer”
a) Registration cancellation insurance
The purpose of this cancellation insurance is to allow the runners to be fully reimbursed of the registration fee if they wish to cancel their registration for the reasons :
• Serious illness, serious injury or death of the runner or a member of their family
• Pregnancy of the registered runner
• Public transport failure/flight disruption
• Adverse weather
• Theft of travelling documents
• Armed forces & emergency services recall
• Relocated for work
• Changes to examination dates
Cancellation insurance fees : 10% additional of race fee
Cancellation insurance must be taken out at the time of registration.
b) Refund without insurance :
If the runner does not subscribe to the insurance, no refund will be possible.
