International Airports

There are many international airports in Thailand within comfortable traveling distance to the event venue, including Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) and Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX). The flight duration from Bangkok is typically around 1:15 hrs.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport Bangkok (BKK) is the main air gateway into Thailand. It serves more than 50 international airlines.

Several airlines operate international flights to Chiang Mai (CNX). Some commonly used airlines that fly to Chiang Mai from abroad include : Thai Airways, AirAsia, Bangkok Airways, China Eastern Airlines, Cathay Dragon, SilkAir, Korean Air, EVA Air, Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways. In addition to flights from Bangkok, there are direct domestic flights to Chiang Mai from various other places in Thailand. Some of these include:

  1. Phuket - A popular tourist destination in southern Thailand with direct flights to Chiang Mai.
  2. Krabi - Known for its stunning beaches and islands, Krabi offers flights connecting to Chiang Mai.
  3. Hat Yai - A city in southern Thailand serving as a hub for travelers from the southern region.
  4. Surat Thani - Gateway to the famous islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao, with flights to Chiang Mai.
  5. Udon Thani - Located in northeastern Thailand, Udon Thani offers flights to Chiang Mai for travelers from that region.

Bangkok to Chiang Mai

There are 4 ways to get from Bangkok to Chiang Mai by plane, car, bus, or train.

  1. By Plane : Traveling by plane is the fastest way to get from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. Flight time is approx 1:30 hrs. Airlines flying from Bangkok to Chiang Mai are Bangkok Air, Nok Air, Thai AirAsia, Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air, Thai Smile, Thai Vietjet

  2. By Car : Traveling by car from Bangkok to Chiang Mai take about 9 hours, 700 kilometers.

Chiang Mai to Wat Nam Tong Temple, Doi Inthanon

Wat Nam Tong Temple (GPS 18.50372155662991, 98.6623090210111) is situated near Mae Klang Waterfall, at the foothills of Doi Inthanon. It is around 70 Km. from Chiang Mai city or 1:15 hrs.

Wat Nam Tong Temple is the start line of TRANS-INT 160. There will be free pre-booking transportation for TRANS-INT 160 runners from the Royal Park Rajapruek to the start line. Crews and spectators must pay for their transport.
